Latest News from Southbank FC

2nd Feb 2003 - Season Starts here

After a difficult run of only two games each over the last three months, both teams should be back in action this weekend.  The first team face top of the table Tilehurst United whilst the Ressies look to continue their good form against Caversham Park Reserves.

Although neither side have played much recently results seem to have gone our way in both divisions and we can now hopefully move both teams up the league.

This weekend saw only two results in Division 1 West, with both working in Southbank's favour.  Bottom side Purley Reserves lost to Tilehurst United while IBIS failed to stretch their advantage over The Bank by suffering a 2-1 reverse against in form Alfreds Head.  The remaining fixture between Mortimer West End and Dee Road Reserves was abandoned after only 50 minutes.

In Division 3 Central Barton Rovers Reserves caused an upset by beating Christchurch 2-0 which moved them above Southbank in a mid table position.  On a brighter note however both Riverside and Autocare lost 2-0 which strengthens the Reserves hopes of claiming third.
