25th Sept 2005 -Depleted Southbank Mis-Out

Southbank's squad was stretched to the very limit this weekend with more than 15 players unavailable for one reason or another.  Because of this it was difficult to even field two teams and so a return of just one point from the two games was perhaps not too surprising!

The First team could have topped the table this weekend if they'd seen off Misfits but Holton's makeshift team suffered a nightmare opening fifteen minutes that saw keeper Luke Howroyd picking the ball out of his net three times!  A spirited fightback was almost enough to snatch a point before Misfits killed all 'Bank hopes with a last minute goal to clinch their 4-2 win (click here for more details).

With Player/Manager Andy Persaud one of a number of players missing Southbank Reserves called on a few Southbank veterans and occasional players to help them field a full side against league newcomers New England.  Goal keeper Ian Harvey was in inspirational form as Southbank nearly snuck a 1-0 win thanks to a Mig Frade goal (click here for more details).
