23rd Jan 2006 - Record Breaking Holton Sees off Purley

 

 

Player/Manager broke the Southbank scoring record as he bagged 8 goals against Division 1 West whipping boys Purely Reserves to lead his side to a 13-0 victory (click here for more details).  Leading by 4-0 at half time against Purley's depleted 10 men Southbank came out for the second half and added a further 9 goals despite losing for Purley player Ricky Haimes to injury.  Completing the Southbank scoring were, Steve Woodrow 2, Ricky Haimes, Simon 'Hightower' Price and an Purley own goal.

 

 

The win is a timely boost for The 'Bank in the lead up to the local derby against Southcote Video Res.

 

 

Continuing their recent good form, Southbank Reserves secured a third successive win with a 3-2 defeat of Club Deportivo La Star.  Raph Allen returned to the side to do the damage and scored all 3 goals as Southbank hung on despite going down to ten men when Russell 'Laterz' Simove went of injured midway through the second half.
