The season finally got under way on Sunday with mixed fortunes for Southbank FC.  Mark Holtons reign as first team manager got of to a good start with a 4-1 win away to Theale in Division 1 West.  Goals from a re-vitalised Bryce Bellman, a Ben Thurgood penalty and debut goals for new signings Nader Gehawi and Ben Duncan secured the win (click here for a full match report).  Elsewhere in the division new boys AFC Victory beat Burghfield Sports 6-0, Southcote Video beat Mortimer West End 5-1, and Calcot CA drew 1-1 with Associated Asphalt.

The reserves new management team of Marc Osbourne and Gary Purser saw their side dominate against Caversham Park Reserves but an inability to take their chances saw them lose 1-0 (click here for a full match report).
