9th March 2008 - Spring Surge
for The 'Bank
Southbank enter the run in to the end of the season with both teams
involved in intriguing battles for promotion and survival.
Hightower has led his team on an undefeated league run of 6 games
including two vital wins over promotion rivals, and early pace setters in
Division 1 West, Barton Rovers. A haul of 15 points from January to
mid-March and moved Southbank in to touching distance of AA's and Goring
United at the top of the League. With a number of games in hand
Southbank can move to within 1 point of the top of the league by picking up
maximum points from their fixture backlog.
In Division 3 Central Holton's Reserves have not fared quite as well and
find themselves at the wrong end of the table following 4 defeats, 2 draws
and a solitary win since the turn of the year. Hopefully the 5-3
victory over Purley Social should be enough for The 'Banks second eleven to
finish outside of the relegation places and maintain their Division 3 status
for next season.
