Hearts of Lions Crash to Dee Road Defeat
Southbank’s class of
2010 suffered a heartbreaking 5-2 defeat to League Champions Dee Road in the
Madejski Final on Wednesday night. Despite coming from behind twice in the
first half and holding Reading’s best team for 75 mins, a cruel penalty
decision awarded against Will Graham turned the game.
The penalty was
scored and as Southbank pressed and tired Dee Road ran a further 2 goals in the
last 10 mins to flatter them and kick Southbank where it hurt. Never has a
score not reflected the truth of match as much as this did.

This was a massive
achievement for the club and everyone associated with the club thanks all the
players for their efforts both this year and more importantly the cup final.
There was awesome performances all
over the pitch but Southbank’s Man of the Match was probably Luka Kasonda for
his two goals, although Deon ran him close. They gave everything they had and
at the end of the day just got beat by a better team. There is no shame in that
and Southbank FC congratulates Dee Road on their victory.
