17th Jul 2003 - Southbank off to Lilleshall National Sport
Centre
Southbank are to send an elite
squad to the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall for some intensive pre-season
training under the guidance of two former England internationals.
The opportunity comes as a result
of The 'Bank winning a competition run by Kaliber, the non-alcoholic lager (yes
proof of purchase was required but we won't divulge who drinks the stuff -
certainly not Karl!). The prize will see 12 Southbank players spend an evening
in a Telford hotel "preparing" for their days training. The squad will then be
picked up and taken in luxury onboard the official England team coach to
Lilleshall. Once there they'll spend the morning being coached by 2 England
internationals before an afternoon tournament against 3 fellow prize winning
clubs.
Southbank will also feature in The
Sunday People as well as receiving a brand new kit.
More details will follow and a full
report on the trip will appear here in August.
