28th Sept 2005 - Southbank's
Good Form Continues
Sunday
saw Southbank's good run of form continue when both teams won for the second
week in a row despite a depleted squad.
Holton's first team recorded a comfortable 2-1 win away to Mortimer West End
courtesy of a Steve Woodrow brace (click
here for
more details.) In what was last weeks hatrick hero Nader Gehawi's last
game for The 'Bank this season it was strike partner Woody that will claim the
headlines thanks to a goal in each half.
At
Coley Park Andy Persaud's Reserves had to take on The Rose & Thistle with just
the bare eleven but still came out on top thanks to a Steve Mahoney hatrick,
one for leading scorer Jeff Evans and two spot kicks for goalkeeper Ian Harvey
for more details). The 6-1 win keeps the Reserves well on the pace in
Division 3 Central.
