23rd Jan 2005 - A Win and Defeat for Stretched
Southbank
Southbank fought well against 3rd placed Alfreds Head but despite an even share
of the game, came out 2-1 losers. Despite missing a number of regular
first team players Southbank should have scored more than the solitary Danny
Fitzpatrick goal but at the other end had goalkeeper Luke Howroyd to thank for
a number of good saves, including one from a last minute penalty. The
game saw impressive debuts by Reserve team players Rob Lindsey and Paul Wallace
as well as new signing 'Paddy' Murphy.
Despite losing both Rob and Wallace to first team action Persuad and Harvey
lead Southbank Reserves to their first win in 5 games with a comfortable 4-2
victory over Rose & Thistle. A double strike from Raph Allen and further
goals from Chris Sigsworth and Andy Persaud clinched the moral boosting win.
