23rd Feb 2003 - Mixed Fortunes at The Bank
With the Southbank squad yet again stretched to the bones it
was a mixed bagged of results this weekend. Although the First
team managed to win their second successive game against Pangbourne
(click here for match report) the Reserves
were beaten by a decent Riverside team in a game that was crucial to
the promotion push (click here for match report).
Elsewhere results went well for both teams as Autocare beat
Barton Rovers Res and Ibis Res where defeated by the ever
inconsistent Kennet Valley Wanderers.
In Division 1 fellow strugglers County Arms were beaten by
Mortimer West End to create a 6 point gap between Southbank and the
relegation places. At the other end of the table both Alfreds
Head and Dee Road furthered their promotion hopes with 2-1 wins
against Caversham Albion and Ibis respectively.
