Out as Reserves Progress in Cup
Southbank suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of bogy side IBIS despite a strong
fight back worthy of a point. Southbank again started slowly and went a
goal down before Steve Woodrow pulled one back. Two goals on the break
put The 'Bank 3-1 down before Player/Manager Holton pegged one back as
Southbank pilled on the pressure. A draw would've been a fair result but
Southbank saw 4 good chances go begging in the last 5 minutes. Strangely,
this was The 'Banks third 3-2 result in a row!
Meanwhile, in deepest Oxfordshire, Southbank Reserves marched through to the
3rd Round of the Berks & Bucks Junior Trophy with a convincing 2-0 win away to
Allbrite FC. A goal from Jeff 'Big Gay Al' Evans and an Allbrite Own Goal
saw Harvey and Persuad's men through despite a weakened squad caused by the
early start.
