Again a disappointing result.............

Morning lads cant hide behind the fact that I am a little bit disappointed after yesterdays result. Again I feel that we had yet another referee that didn't do us any favours. I know and you know that there second goal was way off side. But fingers crossed they say that luck evens itself over the course of a season (Our time will come).

Another stunning performance from Charlie Cook (Apart from his calamity in the last minute) But before that lets just say that until he had made this mistake he was my man of the match. I felt as though he kept us in it on a number of occasions. (Next time don't kick ball away in the last minute of a cup tie mate)

The back four starting with Russell Bailey who made way at half time, Mark Maskell and Danny Djakovic who were a fantastic together and let me say that if Hightower wants any of these again we will be having words. Finishing the line up at the back was Oggie who for me started at left wing and ended up being asked to drop back to defence, He certainly done a job at the back for me...

In the middle of the park,  Towner who was steady but a little bit quieter than normal. Still gave a good account of himself. Scouse where the head knows what do to but the legs, Knees & lungs didn't allow him who gave way to a reformed Andy Mac who again until he nearly walked for giving the ref loads of abuse was by far man of the match (Let himself down and could have let his mates down, Need to walk away on future mate) Outstanding performance though mate no excuses in the future mate that is what I am expecting from now on. Little Mike Morrison who played well in fits and starts. Also Ali Mac who has always giving everything he has so far and he looks like cementing his position in the starting 11.

Up front we had the experience in Woody who showed why he is first on Hightower's team sheets week in and week out great penalty mate... Little Mike Green who made his starting debut for the plenty of running of the ball but thought he struggled to find his feet at times.... He made way for Mr Southbank himself Mark Holton who netted twice and has definitely got the right to wear the number ten shirt when the new kits come in. Mind you he could have won the tie for us on a few occasions, But someone who hasn't played a game of competitive football for sometime he certainly knows where the net is. Also last but by knows means least Jeff Evans who because of the front two we had he played out of position and again didn't moan and gave another good account of himself but I do think that he is more of a striker than a Centre midfielder.

The tie was looking all poised at half time both teams going in with a goal each. Penalty from woody brought us level just before the whistle. The second half started bright for the Bank but for the second time in two weeks the ref awarded our opponents a blatant off side goal. The bank now trail 2-1. The bank still had their chances but couldn't find the net. Then at the other end of the pitch Mark went in with a clumsily challenge and gifted them a penalty who now sent the tie 3-1 the Bank looking beaten but not out.

Now its time for character with Woody and Andy Mac running and linking up well surely something had to give.

Then we were awarded a free kick right hand side. A great cross in from Ali Mac to find Holton raising like a salmon (Tin of salmon) to score our second and bring hope to the tie for the bank. 3-2. We kept on knocking on the door when finally with about five minutes to go Woody & Andy Mac turning tricks over by the left hand corner flag Woody crosses again to the find the head of Holton again. Get in there now 3-3 with the Bank looking the more to go on and win the tie. The opposition looked defeated until the last minute of the game Charlie and Oggy getting things upside down and bring there centre forward and awarding them there second penalty. Now the tie 4-3 but still thinking that we could go straight up the other end and nick another (Until Charlie decided to kick the ball towards Newbury Police Station only out of frustration I know)

A Massive thanks to Mahoney , Harvey and also Karl who never crossed the line Thanks for your support lads.

Anyway onwards and upwards boys
