Following Southbank's successful inaugural season (1997-98) the decision was made to establish a Reserve side.  1998 saw the Reserves compete in the UK Trophy Factory Friendly League, finishing a creditable 2nd before joining the Reading & District Sunday League for the 1999-2000 season.  Promotion was achieved at the second attempt and the Reserves were promoted to Division 3. After 7 season in Division 3 the Reserves finally gained promotion under the new management of Player/Manager Steve 'Budda' Booth, and subsequently go into the 2009-10 season at their highest ever level -Division 2 Central.  After repeating the feat the following season the Reserves are now lining up in Division 1 West for the 2010-11 season.
